LYNCHBURG, Va. - Shenandoah University got back to its
volleyball winning ways Saturday afternoon by sweeping a non-league
tri-match at Randolph College.
Shenandoah (7-3) began the afternoon with a 3-0 sweep over Sweet
Briar before taking out the host WildCats 3-1 in the middle match
of the day.
SU defeated Randolph 25-20, 26-24, 23-25, 25-15 behind 17 kills
from junior Rachel Maki and 13
by freshman Haley
Smith.
Freshman Brooke
Strathy had a double-double with 21 assists and 14 digs.
The Hornets hit .219 in the match, including .360 in the opening
set.
SU defeated the Vixens at 16, 12 and 24; Maki's nine kills led
the offense.
Strathy and Kelcy Brown had 13
and 12 assists, respectively.
Defensively, Mary Harshman had
a match-high 13 digs.
Shenandoah hosts Mary Baldwin in a USA South match on Wednesday
at 6:00.
