Junior Hannah Johnson gave the SU Hornets something to cheer for with her rebound goal of a Liz Grover shot at 48:32.
The goal is Johnson's first of the season.
Deanna Smith had the game-winner for LC when she put home a Katie Kline feed at 22:39.
Lynchburg outshot Shenandoah 40-3 and had a 15-1 advantage in penalty corners.
SU keeper Sarah Clare made 15 saves.
