WINCHESTER, Va. – Shenandoah University earned its first softball doubleheader sweep in three weeks with 2-0 and 4-2 non-league victories over Mary Washington Tuesday afternoon.
Junior Brooke Over, who was named as the USA South Conference Pitcher of the Week yesterday afternoon, tossed a three-hit shutout for SU (11-7) in the opener.

Senior Ashley Plaugher had the game-winning RBI to help Over out, plating classmate Renoula Jones with a single up the middle.
Jones had reached on a one-out single up the middle.
A pair of triples, by freshman Heather Sink and sophomore Lauren McCabe, resulted in the final run of the opening contest.
A game-two leadoff double gave Mary Washington (11-16) the opening run of the nightcap before the Hornets answered with one of their own in the bottom of the frame.
SU then scored two times in the fourth and once in the fifth to finish off the sweep.
Jolisa Jones, Sink and Morgan Coble all had two hits in that second contest with Jolisa Jones and Coble also driving in one run each.
