Men's Soccer Battles to Tie

WINCHESTER, Va. – Shenandoah University earned its first point in ODAC men's soccer play with a 0-0 Senior Day tie versus Emory and Henry Saturday afternoon on the Sprint Field at Shentel Stadium turf.

The two teams played about as even a contest as possible, with SU (2-11-2, 0-7-1 ODAC) and E&H (2-11-3, 0-5-3) splitting 34 shots in the 110-minute contest.

Both teams took five shots in the opening 45 minutes, nine in the second half, one in the first OT and two in the second 10-minute overtime session.

Wasps goalkeeper Justin Spencer made nine saves while Shenandoah keeper James Dutcher had 11 stops.

SU held a slight, 5-4, advantage in corners. The final Hornets corner came in the last 30 seconds of the contest.

Shenandoah is back in action on Tuesday at 7:00 in its home finale. The Hornets host Randolph-Macon in that contest.
