WINCHESTER, Va. - Shenandoah University kept its volleyball record perfect on the season with a 3-0 non-conference sweep over former USA South Conference foe Mary Baldwin Thursday evening.

The Hornets (4-0) won at 16, 15 and 18 over the Fighting Squirrels (0-5).

SU hit .261 for the match, including a match-high .316 in the second set. The Hornets had nine kills against three errors in 19 total attempts in that middle set.

The first kill of that set, by freshman Blake Parkes, made senior Kelcy Brown the career assists leader at SU.

Brown now has 2064 career assists, breaking the record of 2056 set by Lesley Beard from 2000-03.

Junior Haley Smith paced the victors with nine kills while Megan Gillispie added five.

Brown had 16 assists and Parkes 12 for SU.

Shenandoah is back in action this weekend at Gwynedd-Mercy for a tri-match with Alvernia and the host Griffins.
