VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. – Host Virginia Wesleyan scored three second half goals on its way to a 3-0 ODAC men's soccer victory over Shenandoah Saturday afternoon.
Virginia Wesleyan (12-4-1, 8-2 ODAC) got what proved to be the game-winning goal on an own goal in the 55th minute.
The Marlins then scored in the 67th and 73rd minutes, the latter on a penalty kick, to dispatch SU (0-17, 0-10).
Rodrigo Casteriana made seven saves for the Hornets in goal.
VWC owned a 26-9 advantage in shots and took seven of the game's 11 corners.
Shenandoah completes its season on Tuesday night at 7:30 with a Senior Night contest against Eastern Mennonite.
