LYNCHBURG, Va. – Host Lynchburg College ended Shenandoah University's men's basketball season with a 90-65 victory Tuesday night in the opening round of the ODAC Tournament.
LC (19-7) scored the initial seven points of the game and never looked back against SU (3-23).
The LC Hornets rained 3-pointers in the win, hitting a school record 14 for the game and 11 in the first half.
Lynchburg was 11 for 18 from behind the arc in the first half as it took a 54-31 lead into the break.
After Shenandoah got itself on the board with a Kevin Lecsaint layup at 17:45, LC scored 25 of the next 35 points to take a 20-point, 32-12, lead with 8:18 remaining.
The lead reached 26 points with 4:00 remaining before falling to 23 points by the half.
Lynchburg then scored 19 of the first 27 points of the second half to seal the victory.
Freshman Shaquille Rodney paced SU with 13 points while Lecsaint had a career-high seven points to go along with seven rebounds.
Manny Hernandez had 19 points for the victors.
Shenandoah opens its 2013-14 season on November 15 with the opening game of the BB&T Tip-Off Classic.
