WINCHESTER, Va. –  Shenandoah University earned its first softball sweep of the 2013 season with a pair of victories over Mary Washington Wednesday afternoon.

Junior Erica Kondzielawa gave the Hornets the game two victory by driving in Kimberly Brady with a two-out double to left in the bottom of the sixth.

Freshman Megan Tripp (1-0) earned the win in the circle by throwing the first 6 1/3 innings; she allowed eight runs on seven hits and three walks while striking out one.

Amanda Litwin and Jordan Wolford finished up for SU to complete the sweep.

Coach Marlena Kotynski's team had 14 hits in the nightcap, including three each by Brady and junior Brittany Guepe.

Morgan Coble, who was 2 for 4, drove in three runs with Lauren McCabe and Maggie Waters posting two RBI each.

McCabe also drove in two and scored two runs.

In game one, junior Stephanie Cameron (2-0) tossed a complete game seven-hitter to earn her second victory in as many starts.

Cameron struck out six, walked three and scattered 10 hits to earn the victory.

Shenandoah scored the game-winning run in the fourth on a solo HR by senior catcher Denise Mitchell.

The Hornets initial run of that contest came in the first when Guepe led off with a single up the middle and advanced to third on a fielding error in center.

With two outs, Coble drove in Guepe with a single to right.
