HARRISONBURG, Va. - No. 13/27 Shenandoah University played nine innings of ODAC baseball with Eastern Mennonite Wednesday afternoon with the two teams failing to come to a conclusion.
Eastern Mennonite, thanks two runs in the bottom of the eighth, tied the game at 4-4. After the two teams both were held scoreless in the ninth, the game was suspended due to darkness.
Per ODAC rules, the Halted Game Rule is in effect since the two teams have another game between each other scheduled this season and this game will be completed prior to that scheduled contest.
EMU visits Bridgeforth Field this coming Tuesday for a 3:30 start.
Shenandoah took the early lead with one run in the third and two in the fourth before the Royals answered with one in the fourth and another in the fifth.
SU scored its last run, an unearned run, in the eighth.
Nick Beall is currently 2 for 5 with an RBI to lead the Hornets offense.
Cameron Lundmark, who came on with two outs in the eighth, is the current pitcher of record.
Shenandoah hosts PSU-Altoona on Friday at 2:00.
