Junior Stephanie Cameron (5-1) threw an eight-hitter for the Hornets in the win over the Bullets (0-3). Cameron struck out eight, walked one and allowed just a solo home run in the fifth to post the victory.
SU banged out nine hits and took advantage of four GC errors to score six unearned runs in the victory.
Designated player Kimberly Brady had three hits for the Hornets while junior third baseman Emily Wilson went 2 for 4 with three RBI. Wilson had an RBI single in the fifth and a two-run double in the seventh.
Salisbury (11-0) used a seven-run fourth to key a 9-1 softball victory over Shenandoah Saturday afternoon in the Hornets opening game of the day.
The Sea Gulls scored two runs in the third, and after SU answered with one in the bottom of that same frame, scored seven runs on just three hits in the fourth to pull away.
The Hornets did not help matters by hitting a batter, issuing three walks and committing two errors in the fourth. Four of Salisbury's seven runs in the frame were unearned.
Brittany Guepe and Madison Bradley, the top two hitters in the Shenandoah lineup, both had two hits in three at-bats.
Amanda Litwin (0-2) took the loss after allowing six runs (five earned) on five hits and four walks in 4 2/3 innings of work.
