WESTMINISTER, Md. - The Shenandoah University field hockey team recorded it third shutout victory of the season Tuesday with a 2-0 non-league win at McDaniel.
The Green Terror (2-2) dominated the shots column, but it was Shenandoah (3-1) that made the most of its opportunities.
The Hornets had just four shots on the day, but scored on both second half chances to earn the victory.
Both goals came off of corners.
In the 57th minute, Tori Finney knocked in a backhand shot of a Presha Merritt feed.
Just more than four minutes later, Ashley Cross iced it for SU with an unassisted goal right in front.
Senior goalkeeper Sarah Clare, who saw 13 of McDaniel's 24 shots reach her, turned away each one of them to post the shutout.
McDaniel also had a 16-3 advantage in penalty corners.
Shenandoah continues this road trip with a Thursday non-conference contest at Frostburg State.
