COLUMBUS, Ohio - The Shenandoah University women's soccer team completed its play at the Capital University Tournament Sunday with a 3-0 loss to the host Crusaders.
CU (2-1-1) got a Hilary Ells goal in the 13th minute to provide all of the offense it would need against Shenandoah (2-3).
The final two goals came in a 52-second span late in the second half. Maura Fortino set up Jamie Murray at 80:16 and 81:08 to secure the victory.
Freshman Erin Septer kept the Hornets in it by making 12 saves, including nine in the first half.
The Crusaders peppered Septer with 21 shots.
SU had 14 shots of its own but Capital keeper Maggie Donnellan had 10 saves in 86:16 to produce the clean sheet.
Capital also had a 7-6 advantage in corners.
Shenandoah is back in action at home on Wednesday night in a non-league contest against Dickinson. Game time is 7 p.m.
