LYNCHBURG, Va. – The Shenandoah University women's basketball rebounded from Wednesday's heartbreaking loss by taking out Randolph College 70-61 Saturday afternoon.
The Hornets (6-9, 3-3 ODAC) rallied from a three-point halftime deficit to defeat the WildCats (8-7, 2-4).
Trailing 61-57 with 4:53 remaining, Shenandoah scored the final 13 points of the contest to seal the win.
Holly Chittenden got the rally started with consecutive layups before sophomore Imani Heggins put SU on top to stay with a 3-point play at 3:02.
A Chittenden free throw at 2:21 extended the advantage to four and the Hornets coasted home to the victory.
Heggins had a game-high 25 points with Chittenden adding 15 points and sophomore Ashley McGhee 11.
Shenandoah committed just 10 turnovers in the game and shot 40 percent to the field versus 32 percent for Randolph.
RC had a 49-44 advantage on the glass.
Coach C.K. Calhoun's club continues this road trip with a 7 p.m. Wednesday at Virginia Wesleyan.
