LEXINGTON, Va. – No. 6 Shenandoah University saw its women's soccer season come to an end Wednesday afternoon with a 2-0 loss to No. 2 Washington and Lee in the ODAC Tournament semi-finals.
Tricia Jessee scored both goals of the game W&L (15-1-1) to push the Generals past SU (8-10-2).
The win puts Washington and Lee into Saturday's championship contest against Lynchburg.
On the first goal, Jessee took a through pass from Holley Beasley and threaded her right-footed shot past Hornets goalkeeper Erin Septer in the 50th minute.
With 62 seconds remaining, Jessee found herself at the top of the box following a failed Shenandoah clearance and ripped a 20-yard shot just under the crossbar to seal the victory.
Septer, who had five saves, kept her side in the contest with a number of excellent saves.
In the opening moments, she pushed a point blank shot above the bar and had diving saves in both stanzas.
W&L outshot SU 17-13 and took all eight of the game's corners.
The Hornets' 2015 schedule will be announced this winter.
