WINCHESTER, Va. - The Shenandoah University baseball team saw its five-game season opening winning streak come to an end Sunday with 6-0 non-league loss to Gallaudet University.

Shenandoah (5-1) held the Bison (5-3) to just seven hits on the day, but committed two errors that led to a pair of unearned runs for the victors.

Gallaudet took its initial lead with two runs in the fourth, added three more in the sixth and one in the seventh to provide the final margin of victory.

Brandon Holsworth (2-1) scattered eight hits in 7.0 innings to earn the win for GC.

He struck out five and walked two.

John Wilt, JJ McDaniel and Michael Paul all had two hits for the Hornets.

Billy Arens (0-1) took the loss after allowing four runs (three earned) on six hits in 5.0 innings.

Cameron Lundmark, who pitched the sixth, had two strikeouts and Michael Scimanico three over the final three innings for SU.

Shenandoah is scheduled to be back in action on Wednesday versus Franklin & Marshall in another non-league contest.

SU was scheduled to play Penn St. - Altoona and Dickinson prior to the F&M game, but both of these contests have been postponed due to the expected storm Sunday night into Monday.

The Dickinson contest will be made up on March 24 while a makeup date for PSU-Altoona has not been announced at this time.
