Lynchburg Stings Men's Lax

LYNCHBURG, Va. – No. 6 Lynchburg College held Shenandoah University scoreless in the opening half of a 24-2 ODAC men's lacrosse victory Sunday afternoon.

LC (7-3, 2-0 ODAC) scored the initial 20 goals of the game before Stephen LaTona scored unassisted for SU (5-6, 1-2) at the 6:27 mark of the third.

Drew Brooks, off of a Tilghman Sanders assist, had the other goal for SU. Brooks made it 22-2 with his goal at 6:40 of the fourth.

Lynchburg outshot its visitors 61-18, had a 50-24 advantage in groundballs and won 23 of 30 faceoffs.

Sophomore Dom Lombardi had a team-high three groundballs for coach Tim Marshall's club.

Three players: Lombardi, Eric Hobby and Kyle Shea, forced two turnovers each.

Shenandoah continues its difficult schedule this Wednesday when it hosts No. 18 Roanoke in a 7:00 ODAC contest.  This game is the second half of an ODAC doubleheader with the SU women, who host Bridgewater at 4.
