WINCHESTER, Va. - The No. 12/18 Shenandoah University baseball team has secured the top seed at the upcoming ODAC baseball tournament with a 9-0 win over Bridgewater College Thursday afternoon.

Sophomore Darrell Thompson (8-1) tossed his third consecutive complete game to give SU (28-7, 17-3 ODAC) the victory over Bridgewater (25-9, 12-5).

Thompson struck out 12 and allowed just five hits in tossing the complete game. He walked just two and retired 16 of the final 18 hitters he faced.

After the fourth, he allowed only a leadoff single in the ninth and a batter to reach via an error in the seventh.

Thompson retired the Eagles in order in the first, second, sixth and eighth innings.

The offense took advantage of three BC errors in the first to score four runs on three hits before adding one run in the fifth and two each in both the seventh and eighth.

Senior catcher Joe Bittner highlighted a nine-hit attack with a two-run home run in the seventh.

The top seven hitters in the SU lineup all had at least one hit.

Shenandoah completes its regular season on Monday with a non-league doubleheader against Misericordia.

Official ODAC Tournament pairings will be announced following the completion of league play this weekend.
