Women's Lax Mauls 'Cats

WINCHESTER, Va. - The Shenandoah University women's lacrosse team earned its fourth ODAC victory of the season with a 16-2 win over Randolph Tuesday night.

Shenandoah (8-3, 4-1 ODAC) saw Randolph (2-8, 0-5) score the game's initial goal, but quickly answered with a five-goal run to take total control of the contest.

Taylor Riccardi score that first goal of the game, off of a Taylor Klevenz assist at 26:51, before SU scored those five goals in a span of 8:56.

Senior Liz Bereit had two goals and assist during this run with Jen Northam adding two goals and Miranda Rudacille two assists.

Bereit's classmate, Emily Kogler, had the middle goal in this run.

After Klevenz scored for the 'Cats at 13:44, the Hornets scored the final two goals of the first half and all nine goals in the second.

Rudacille and Cortney Gensemer both had natural hat tricks in the second half with each woman scoring four goals during the stanza.

Rudacille and Bereit shared high-scoring honors with Rudacille scoring five goals and dishing out three assists and Bereit tying a school record with six assists along with her two goals.

SU outshot Randolph 33-9, had a 28-12 advantage in groundballs and saw RC win 11 of 20 draws.

Shenandoah is back in action with its final trip to Sweet Briar on Saturday. That contest starts at 2 p.m.
