WINCHESTER, Va. – Lindsay Corbin and Lisa Mitro tossed a pair of one-hitters Sunday afternoon as the Shenandoah University softball team swept ODAC opponent Sweet Briar.
Corbin (2-8) tossed hers in the opener for SU (9-19, 7-11 ODAC) while Mitro (5-6) had the game two 1-hitter.
Corbin walked five, struck out six and allowed just an infield single in the third inning to the Vixens (5-22, 0-18).
Amanda Terry had a clean single to left center with two outs in the third inning of game two and Mitro hit a batter earlier in that same frame, but was otherwise perfect. The senior struck out two and retired her final seven batters in order.
Shenandoah led SBC (5-22, 0-18) just 2-0 heading into the sixth inning of the opener, but scored seven runs in the bottom of the frame to end the contest early.
Mitro and Cassie Green both had two hits and three RBI with Madison Bradley, Karli Rorabaugh and Corbin driving in one each.
SU had 15 hits in the nightcap with Megan Vanderburgh getting three and Nicole Pierson, Ashlyn Drake, Kristen Weadon, Maggie Waters and Mitro posting two each.
Drake, Mitro and Corbin drove in two runs each.
Shenandoah plays its final road game of the season on Wednesday at Messiah.
