Volleyball Splits

CRESSON, Pa. - Shenandoah University earned a split of its non-conference volleyball tri-match at Mount Aloysius Saturday afternoon.

The Hornets (9-10) opened the day with a 3-2 loss to host Mount Aloysius before coming back to down Pitt-Greensburg 3-1 in the nightcap.

Shenandoah earned its second victory of the season over UPG (4-13) by winning at 18 in the first two sets and 25-17 in the fourth.

The Bobcats won the third set 25-13.

Elizabeth Lamont had 14 kills and Caylin Harris 13 to key the victory with Lamont posting 25 digs and Harris 10.

Rachel Cerretani had 22 assists and Jasmine Callahan 20.

In the Mount Aloysius (6-12) match, SU won the opening set 25-23 and after MAC won sets two and three at 22 and 23, respectively, the Hornets forced a fifth by winning 27-25 in the fourth.

The Mounties then won the match with a 15-11 victory in the fifth.

Emily Cheatwood and Harris both had 17 kills versus MAC with Lamont adding 13 along with a team-high 20 digs.

Cerretani and Callahan both posted double-doubles in assists and digs. Cerretani had 41 assists and 13 digs while Callahan had 18 digs and 11 assists.

Shenandoah continues this road swing on Wednesday with a 7 p.m. match at Gettysburg.
