WASHINGTON, D.C. – Homestanding Howard University earned its second men's basketball victory of the season with a 77-66 win over Shenandoah Friday night.

Shenandoah (5-4) never led in the contest versus the Division I Bison (2-8), but trailed by just three, 37-34, at halftime and were down one, 39-38, following a pair of Malcolm Clark free throws with 17:58 to play.

Howard responded with a 6-0 run over the next 1:04 to expand its lead to seven points and assert control of the contest.

SU kept itself in it by scoring 10 of the game's next 17 points and cut the deficit to four thanks to a Kaimonne Douglas 3-pointer at 11:44.

Unfortunately, this would prove to be the Hornets high-water mark for the remainder of the contest.

The Bison finally pulled away with a 14-4 run over the next 4:39 and coasted home to the 11-point win.

Clark, playing in his hometown for the first time in his college career, paced the visitors with 14 points with Jonah Meredith adding 13, Dalon McHugh 12 and Douglas 11.

McHugh also had a team-high nine rebounds.

Charles Williams had 29 points and Dalique Mingo 16 for the Bison.

Howard had a 41-35 advantage on the glass, but Shenandoah outscored the Bison 24-22 in the paint and 13-10 in second chance points.

The Hornets are now off for Christmas break and return to the court December 29-30 at the Music City Classic in Nashville, Tennessee.

Note: Tonight's game was an exhibition for Shenandoah and a game for Howard. The Hornets record is unaffected by tonight's contest.
