WINCHESTER, Va. - The No. 15/16 Shenandoah University baseball team put together a dominating performance on Sunday in a 22-1 non-league victory over PSU-Altoona.
Shenandoah (5-1) scored at least one run in every inning except the seventh and had a five-spot in the third and a six-run fifth.
SU led the Lions (1-4) 10-0 after three innings.
Coach Kevin Anderson's club had a second-best-in-school-history 31 hits, including at least one by eight of nine starters.
Abel Arocho had five hits with Joe Coleman, Tristan Baker, John Wilt and Jake Loew all posting four.
Coleman also drove in five runs with Wilt plating four and Loew, along with Nate Loman, three each.
Zach Teeple (1-0) picked up his first win of the season for the Hornets, allowing just three hits and one run in 5.0 innings of work. He had three strikeouts against five walks.
Matt Burns, Loman and Neil Dutton recorded the final 12 outs with only one hit allowed. Each struck out at least one batter.
Shenandoah continues non-league play on Tuesday with a 12:45 contest at Marymount.
