WINCHESTER, Va. - The Shenandoah University softball team salvaged a split of its non-league doubleheader with Mary Washington Thursday afternoon by earning a 4-1 victory in game two.
Carrie Robinson (3-2) struck out seven in the nightcap victory; she scattered three hits and the one run allowed was unearned.
Seven players had hits in the contest with Lindsay Corbin, Haley Koeninger and Megan Vanderburgh all driving in runs.
Mary Washington (3-7) was a 3-2 winner in the opener.
Kimberly Brady had two of the Hornets (6-6) five hits in game one.
SU will host Catholic University on Sunday in a 1 p.m. non-league doubleheader.
