HARRISONBURG, Va. - Host Eastern Mennonite swept a pair of ODAC softball games from Shenandoah Wednesday afternoon, winning 10-5 in the opener and 9-1 in the nightcap.
The Royals (15-7, 2-2 ODAC) used a five-run fifth to break open game one before jumping on SU (8-12, 2-4) for a combined five runs in the first two innings of the nightcap.
Shenandoah was held to three hits in game two, one each by Kimberly Brady, Lindsay Corbin and Haley Koeninger.
Corbin drove in Brady with the Hornets lone run of the second game with a single to center in the top of the first. Brady had reached on a single up the middle.
Freshman Carrie Robinson (4-6) took the loss after allowing the nine runs on 15 hits and one walk in 4 1/3 innings.
The Hornets had eight hits in game one with Karli Rorabaugh finishing 3 for 4 with two RBI. Brady and Corbin both had two hits with Corbin driving in two runs and Brady one.
Rorabaugh's RBIs came on a double to right in the third and a fifth-inning single. Corbin drove in Melissa Brooks in the third with a single to left and Rorabaugh in the fifth with a double to left.
Corbin (3-6) took the loss in the circle after giving up nine runs (six earned) on 10 hits and three walks in 5.0 innings.
Shenandoah continues this road trip on Saturday with a noon doubleheader at Guilford.
