HARRISONBURG, Va. – No. 9/10 Shenandoah University earned its third straight ODAC baseball victory with a 6-4 win at Eastern Mennonite Wednesday afternoon.

Shenandoah (17-5, 6-3 ODAC) scored three runs in the ninth to outlast the Royals (11-12, 3-7).

In the bottom of the frame, EMU loaded the bases with no outs before SU reliever Phillip Morse erased the threat with two strikeouts and a fly to left.

Morse earned his fifth save of the spring by getting out of that jam. The senior closed out the win for classmate Ryan Mossman, who pitched 2 2/3 innings in relief of Morse' younger brother, Colin Morse.

Mossman (3-1) came on in relief of the younger Morse with one out in the sixth and allowed one run on two hits while striking out three in retiring those eight batters.

Colin Morse struck out six and allowed two runs (one earned) on four hits and three walks in 5 1/3 innings.

Junior Jake Loew, who was one of three Hornets with three hits on the day, provided the game-winning runs with a bases loaded double in the ninth to score Joe Coleman and Tristan Baker. Coleman and Baker both reached on singles, Coleman through the left side and Baker down the left field line.

After a John Wilt sacrifice and an intentional walk to Abel Arocho, Loew put the Hornets on top to stay with the double to right center.

Another intentional walk, this one to Jake Makowski, followed, before Ryan Glendon plated the third run of the frame with a single down the right field line off of Joe Hall.

Hall came on in relief of Kyle Johnson (0-1), who did not retire a batter after starting the ninth. He was charged with two runs on two hits.

Coleman and Glendon joined Loew with three hits for the victors. 

Shenandoah returns to the diamond on Saturday with a noon doubleheader versus No. 5/7 Randolph-Macon.
