HILTON HEAD, S.C. - The SU women's lacrosse squad picked up its first win of the season in an impressive fashion with a commanding 13-5 non-league victory over St. Mary's (Ind.) Monday morning.
The Hornets (1-4) set the tempo early with three quick goals from Abby Zorrilla, Miranda Rudacille and Annie McCorry.
Shenandoah's offense continued to click and entered halftime up 6-3 over the Belles (0-1).
The Hornets momentum carried over to the second half as SU outscored SMC 7-3 in the final stanza.
Shenandoah finished the game with 31 shots, while St. Mary's was held to 18.
Rudacille and Zorrilla led the victors with four goals each.
Coach Lindsey Lutz' squad completes this spring break trip on Wednesday versus Wentworth.
