WINCHESTER, Va. - No. 5 Virginia Wesleyan held Shenandoah to a combined two hits in sweeping an ODAC softball doubleheader Sunday afternoon.
The Marlins (26-5, 11-1 ODAC) held Shenandoah (8-18, 2-8) to two hits in the opener before no-hitting SU in the nightcap.
Senior Kimberly Brady led off the Hornets first in game one with an infield single before Karli Rohrbaugh had a single through the left side in the fourth.
In game two, Kandis Kresinske (12-1) missed a perfect game by just one batter, walking Lindsay Corbin to lead off the Shenandoah fifth, while striking out five in the win.
Corbin (3-9) took the loss in game one, allowing nine runs (seven earned) on six hits and four walks in 1 2/3 innings of work.
Carrie Robinson (4-9) was the game two loser. She gave up nine runs (six earned) on six hits and six walks in 2 2/3 innings.
SU steps out of conference on Tuesday for a 3 p.m. doubleheader at McDaniel.
