FROSTBURG, Md. – The No. 7/11 Shenandoah University baseball team saw its eight-game winning streak come to an end Thursday with a 9-7 non-league loss at No. 13 Frostburg State.

FSU (20-8) jumped out to a 4-0 lead thanks to one run in the first and three more in the second, but had to rally as Shenandoah (25-7) coupled a single run in the fourth with a six-spot in the sixth.

The Hornets sent 10 men to the plate in that sixth inning and scored the six runs on just three hits as the Bobcats issued two walks and committed a crucial error that led to five of the runs being unearned.

Joe Coleman had a two-run single while Jake Loew had a solo home run.

The dinger is Loew's fourth in the past six games.

Trailing by three, FSU scored one run in the bottom of the sixth along with four in the seventh to pull out the victory.

Freshman Robert Klinchock, the third of four pitchers on the day for Shenandoah, took the loss.

Klinchock (0-1) allowed two runs on two hits in 2/3 of an inning. Senior Eric Liskey started and allowed four runs on seven hits and two walks in 3.0 innings.

Abel Arocho and Zach Herbaugh both had two hits each for SU with Arocho and Coleman each driving in a pair of runs.

Shenandoah continues this road trip this Saturday with an ODAC doubleheader at Virginia Wesleyan.
