PSU-Harrisburg Holds Off Men's Soccer

WINCHESTER, Va. - Visiting Penn St. - Harrisburg held off Shenandoah University in a 3-2 non-league men's soccer victory Wednesday evening.

The Lions (6-2) scored the game's initial two goals, but needed a third as Shenandoah (0-6) staged a furious second half rally.

Trailing 2-0 after PSU-H scored in the 24th and 37th minutes, the Hornets brought the game back to level thanks to Renzo Pajuelo and Connor Gordon goals at 46:55 and 68:43, respectively.

Mohamoud Barry set up Pajuelo's goal while Thomas Delahaye had the assist on Gordon's tally.

Unfortunately for the home crowd, the Lions answered back.

In the 76th minute, Justin Elnahrawy threaded a pass into the middle of the box, where Nnamdi Ikeazor redirected it past SU keeper Matt Sweeney.

Shenandoah had one shot following Elnahrawy's goal, by Brian Maye in the 81st minute, but Maye's shot went wide and the Lions were able to hold off their hosts.

PSU-H outshot SU 16-9 and had all five of the game's corner kicks.

Sweeney had five saves.

The Hornets open up ODAC play on Saturday with a 1 p.m. home game versus Washington and Lee. This is the opening contest of a men/women doubleheader.
