BRIDGEWATER, Va. – Host Bridgewater College continued its strong ODAC volleyball campaign with a 3-0 sweep over Shenandoah Wednesday evening.
The Eagles (16-4, 6-2 ODAC) won at 22, 16 and 12 over the Hornets (6-14, 0-6).
The opening set was the closest with Shenandoah leading as late as 22-20 with Nicole Shannon at the service line.
Bridgewater won back the serve thanks to a kill and then combined two kills with a bad set and an attack error by the Hornets to steal the 25-22 victory.
A 10-0 run in the middle of the second propelled the 25-16 win in that set before the hosts led from start to finish in the third.
Emily Cheatwood had seven kills to lead the Hornets offensively with Megan Hillyard adding 10 assists.
Shannon and Kaitlyn Kelley had nine digs each to co-lead SU defensively.
Shenandoah is back at home on Friday night in a 6 p.m. ODAC contest versus Randolph.
