WINCHESTER, Va. – Visiting Roanoke College scored three goals in the first half on its way to a 5-0 ODAC men's soccer victory over Shenandoah Friday night on the Sprint Field at Shentel Stadium turf.
The Maroons (10-4-1, 5-1 ODAC) scored in the 11th, 18th and 36th minutes to take a commanding lead over Shenandoah (2-12-1, 0-5-1).
Eason Myers had what proved to be the game-winner with his unassisted tally at 10:56.
RC scored second half goals in the 49th and 59th minutes to provide the final margin of victory.
Sam Fischer kept the Hornets in it with 10 saves including one on a penalty kick midway through the second half. Roanoke took 22 of the game's 27 shots and had a 7-3 advantage in corner kicks.
Shenandoah takes to the road Tuesday for a 7 p.m. ODAC contest at Randolph-Macon.
