WINCHESTER, Va. – Visiting Emory and Henry erased a pair of double-digit deficits on its way to a 67-63 ODAC men's basketball victory over Shenandoah Saturday afternoon.
Shenandoah (8-13, 4-8 ODAC) jumped to a 16-point first half lead thanks to 50 percent shooting, but could only watch as Emory & Henry (14-7, 8-4) rallied for the four-point win.
The Wasps began their comeback after E.J. Baltimore hit a jumper in the paint with 4:30 left to give the Hornets a 59-48 lead.
Emory and Henry scored 17 of the game's final 19 points, with Baltimore's two free throws at 2:45 the only points for SU down the stretch, to steal the victory.
In this span, SU missed four shots from the field, committed three turnovers and was 2 for 6 at the free throw line. After Baltimore's two free throws at 2:45, the Hornets missed the front end of two one-and-one opportunities and was 0 for 4 from the charity stripe.
The win gives the Wasps a sweep of the season series over Shenandoah.
Malcolm Clark led the hosts with 16 points and 11 rebounds; the double-double is the ninth of the season for the senior and his fourth consecutive.
Baltimore had 10 points to back up Clark.
Chase Branscomb had 20 points and Myles Turner 16 for the victors.
E&H grabbed 41 of the game's 78 rebounds.
Shenandoah travels to Randolph-Macon on Wednesday for a 7 p.m. ODAC contest.
