Hockey Shuts Out Maroons on Senior Night

WINCHESTER, Va. - The Shenandoah University field hockey team earned its 10th win of the season Saturday night with a 1-0 ODAC victory over Roanoke.

Shenandoah (10-4, 3-2 ODAC) celebrated senior night with a win over the Maroons (6-3, 3-3) thanks to a Morgan Payne goal in the 52nd minute.

HOW IT HAPPENED

SU

51:48 | Morgan Payne inserted a corner up to the top of the circle for Kelsey Jones who dished it to her left. Taylor Hayes' shot was high but Morgan Payne was waiting at the left post and deflected it into the back of the net.

QUOTES FROM COACH

We stuck to the game plan and took advantage of our 12 corners to set up our goal. Roanoke is a good team so this win is important moving forward in ODAC play."
