Women's Soccer Dominates Royals

WINCHESTER, Va. - The Shenandoah University women's soccer team earned its third straight win Tuesday with a 5-0 whitewash over Eastern Mennonite.

Shenandoah (9-6, 5-2 ODAC) got an Abby Alexa goal 5:01 in that proved to be enough to down the Royals (4-7, 2-5).

HOW IT HAPPENED

SU 

06′ | Emily Yergin sent a cross from the left post to the top-center of the box, Abby Alexa beat a single defender and put her shot inside the right post. 

21′ | Freshman Bella Infuso received a Yergin pass through traffic, her shot went to the left post past EMU keeper, Leah Wenger, to give the Hornets the early 2-0 lead.

61′ | Rebecca Collimore found Emily Yergin at the top of the box who spun out of a defender and placed the ball in the upper left corner.

65′ | Rebecca Collimore's shot bounced off the right post into the back of the net. Infuso was credited with the assist.

81′ | Maiya Pencile collected a rebounded Dornesha Cottoms' shot for the fifth Hornet goal.

"We had an impressive evening up top with the attack," head coach Liz Pike said. "The women moved the ball well with a good speed of play. We are in that grind of the season and are moving on to preparing for Lynchburg on Saturday."
