Lucky Thirteenth Win for Hockey

WINCHESTER, Va. - The Shenandoah University field hockey team completed an undefeated home slate with a 3-0 non-league win Frostburg State Tuesday evening.

Shenandoah (13-4) saw three different women score and three others assist in the first half to defeat Frostburg (2-15) on the Sprint Field at Shentel Stadium turf. All three goals were the result of penalty corners.

06:07 | After a penalty corner was put into play, Megan Stevens found the back of the net off of a Kelsey Jones assist.

21:55 | Off of a penalty corner, Morgan Payne deflected a Taylor Hayes shot into the top of the goal, out of reach for the Bobcat's defense.

29:03 | Natalie Fyock scored through the keeper's legs. Raven Barter was credited with the assist.

"Our goal today was to control possession for most of the game," head coach Ashley Smeltzer-Kraft said. "We did exactly that and held them to just one shot. Everyone on the team contributed and it was total team effort to head into Saturday with another win. This match was good preparation for our ODAC regular season finale on Saturday."

Shenandoah wraps up regular season ODAC play this Saturday, October 27th as they travel to Virginia Wesleyan for a 1 p.m. start.
