Randolph-Macon Advances on PKs

ASHLAND, Va. - Second-seeded Randolph-Macon advanced on penalty kicks following a 1-1 tie with No. 7 Shenandoah in the ODAC Women's Soccer Tournament quarterfinals Wednesday afternoon.

Shenandoah (9-9-1) was able to hold the Yellow Jackets (11-1-3) scoreless in the first half before allowing a goal four minutes into second half play. As regulation was winding down, senior Rebecca Collimore scored in the 89th minute to send the contest into overtime.

After two scoreless overtime periods, Randolph-Macon netted four PKs to the Hornets three to go on to the next round. The Yellow Jackets will face No. 3 Lynchburg who defeated No. 6 Washington and Lee 2-1 in 2OT. Macon clinched on a diving save on Shenandoah's final attempt.
