EMORY, Va. – Host Emory and Henry College pitched a pair of shutouts in sweeping an ODAC softball doubleheader from Shenandoah University Friday afternoon.
The Wasps (19-3, 2-0 ODAC) were 10-0 winners in the opener before completing the sweep with an 8-0 victory in game two.
Shenandoah (10-12, 1-5) was held to four hits in game one and three hits in the nightcap.
Allie Schey, Morgan Henley, Autumn Beasley and Megan Wilk had the game one hits with Schey, Beasley and Carly Shaw hitting safely in game two.
Elizabeth Everette (4-3) took the game one loss after allowing 10 runs on 12 hits and two walks in 3.0 innings of work.
Katherine Seidl (5-6) went the distance in game two, giving up eight runs (six earned) on 12 hits and one walk in 4 2/3 innings. She also struck out three.
SU is back in action on Tuesday in a 4 p.m. non-league doubleheader versus Hood.
