WINCHESTER, Va. – The Shenandoah University softball team split its home ODAC doubleheader versus Bridgewater College Thursday afternoon.
Shenandoah (11-17, 2-8 ODAC) was a 7-4 winner in the opener before Bridgewater (14-16, 2-8) came back to salvage a split with a 7-0 win in the nightcap.
In game one, SU had 10 hits and Katherine Seidl scattered five hits in the 7-4 victory.
Seidl (6-8) struck out two, did not walk a batter and saw gave up only one earned run in the complete game victory.
Allie Schey drove in the game-winning run in the bottom of the sixth with a single up the middle to score Carly Shaw from second. Shaw reached with a one out single to right and stole second on the play.
Autumn Beasley and Megan Wilk both had two hits with Maryann Hollen driving in a pair.
The Eagles scored two runs in the first, one in the second and two more in the third to take control of the nightcap.
The Hornets were held to three hits in the game as Shaw, Schey and Jenna Barr all had singles.
Seidl took the loss after allowing four runs on six hits in 2.0 innings. Elizabeth Everette pitched the final 5.0 innings.
Shenandoah takes to the road on Saturday for an ODAC doubleheader at Guilford.
