WESTMINSTER, Md. – The Shenandoah University softball team wrapped up its non-conference slate Wednesday afternoon by splitting a doubleheader at McDaniel.
Shenandoah (12-22) came back to salvage the split with a 4-1 victory in game two after McDaniel (17-14-1) rallied for a 5-4, eight inning win in the opener.
Junior Carrie Robinson went the distance in game two, tossing a six-hitter while striking out five against three walks.
Robinson (2-3) also helped herself at the plate with a two-run home run in the top of the second. The blast was her first of the season.
Megan Wilk and Meghan Stout both had two hits in three at-bats with Wilk driving in a run.
The Green Terror erased a 4-0 deficit in the opener with three runs in the fifth and one in the sixth before getting the winning run in the eighth.
Kayla O'Connell was 2-for-4 with two RBI and Wilk 1-for-4 with two RBI to lead the Hornets offense.
Morgan Henley, who scored two runs, had a double in three at-bats.
Katherine Seidl (6-11) took the loss after allowing five runs (three earned) on nine hits and two walks in 7 1/3 innings.
She also struck out one.
The Hornets host Randolph College on Saturday at 1 p.m. in an ODAC doubleheader.
