WINCHESTER, Va. – Visiting Roanoke College shot 70 percent in the second half to pull away from host Shenandoah and earn a 65-45 ODAC women's basketball victory Saturday afternoon at the James R. Wilkins, Jr. Athletics & Events Center.
Roanoke (12-5, 6-5 ODAC) shot 64 percent (9-of-14) in the third quarter before hitting on 78 percent (7-of-9) in the final stanza to turn a six-point halftime lead into the 20-point victory.
Shenandoah (8-10, 4-7) was 8-for-23 (35 percent) over that same span.

After the Maroons took a 14-11 lead after one, the visitors doubled their advantage by halftime by scoring the final three points of the second.
The Hornets scored six of the first eight points of the third, cutting the deficit to two points, 28-26 following a pair of Ashley Stone free throws, before Roanoke answered.
The Maroons scored eight straight points in a 2:07 span, pushing their lead out to 10 points by the 5:27 mark.
SU would get no closer than seven points the rest of the way and Roanoke sealed the win with a 10-3 run to start the fourth.
