WINCHESTER, Va. – The No.1 Washington & Lee Generals defeated Shenandoah University 17-5 in ODAC women's lacrosse action Wednesday night.
The Generals (14-2, 8-0 ODAC) took command of the game quickly by scoring five goals in the opening six minutes and held the advantage over SU (11-5, 6-2) for the match's entirety.
IN BRIEF
Emma Stiffler was able to stop the bleeding for the Hornets at the 19:46 mark scoring off a free position shot to cut the deficit to 5-1.
A man-up opportunity arose at 15:54 and Shenandoah was able to take advantage of the situation when Jordyn Miller found Alyson Bittinger for a goal.
W&L went on another run, scoring six straight, to push the lead out to 10 goals.
Shenandoah's defense held Washington & Lee to just four tallies in the second half.
