Box Score WINCHESTER, Va. – Southern Virginia scored the game's lone goal three minutes into sudden victory overtime to down host Shenandoah, 1-0, in non-league men's soccer action Wednesday evening.
 
Zach Martin scored from 20 yards out at the 3:17 mark of the first overtime session to give Southern Virginia (1-4) its initial victory of the 2019 season.
 
IN BRIEF
Shenandoah (2-4) owned a 13-10 edge in shots and took seven of the game's eight corners, but could not find the back of the net.

The Hornets also spent 65 percent of their possession time in the offensive half of the field. The Knights held possession for 52 percent of the contest.
 
SVU keeper Jacob Solis had nine saves, including five in the second half, to give his team a chance at victory.
