DOVER, Del. - The Shenandoah University field hockey team defeated Wesley College 5-0 Sunday afternoon in its final non-conference match of the year.
The two teams were scoreless in the first quarter before the Hornets (7-2) put in two past the Wolverines' (6-3) defense in the second.
SU went on to score once in the third and before finishing the game with a pair in the final stanza.
HOW IT HAPPENED
SU 21:23 | A Wesley foul led to the first SU goal, Kelsey Jones from Maddie Price.
SU 27:13 | The Wolverines successfully killed the penalty corner set but the Hornets converted a second chance shot and Megan Stevens scored off a Price pass.
SU 44:23 | Off of a corner Hayes found Jones for her second goal of the game.
SU 49:23 | After Stevens input another corner, Jessica Donovan put a goal in from Hayes.
SU 58:43 | Serena Farmer scored an unassisted goal in the final two minutes of the game.
