Men's Lacrosse Marches Past Saints

WINCHESTER, Va.  The Shenandoah University men's lacrosse team held off Marymount College with a 16-11 win on Saturday afternoon in a non-league contest.

The Hornets (3-1) held off the Saints (0-2) using a five goal run in the middle of the contest to pull away for the third win of the season. 

IN BRIEF 

In a strong defensive quarter, SU took an early lead in the first, Jay Baker found Tyler Held for the first goal of the game at the 9:27 mark. Austin Galler followed the goal with an unassisted one of his own after winning the face-off to himself. 

The Saints found the back of the net at 7:55 to bring the score to 2-1 at the end of the opening quarter. 

Marymount found momentum in the second quarter going on a 3-0 run from the 13:44 to the 8:51 mark to take a 4-3 lead before Shenandoah took the lead with back-to-back unassisted goals from Sophomores Chris Baker and Logan Clingerman

To bookend the break, the Hornets scored five unanswered goals and never allowed MU back within less than two goals throughout the second half.
