WINCHESTER, Va. – Shenandoah University ran its women's tennis winning streak to three matches Wednesday evening with a 7-2 non-league victory over Hood College.

The Hornets (3-0) took a 2-1 lead after doubles before winning five of the six singles matches to clinch the victory over Hood (2-2).

Shenandoah won the initial four singles matches completed – winning at Nos. 1, 3, 4 and 5 – with the team's final victory, at No. 2, coming in three sets.

The only singles loss came at No. 6, which was competed as an eight-game pro set because the match result was determined.

Jada Lewis, at No. 3, had the match-clinching win. She downed Katie Cautero 7-6 (4), 6-1.

Jahveesha Combs,
Lily Kimble, and
Madison Rogers were all double winners.

Combs and Kimble won 8-1 at No. 1 doubles while Lewis and Rogers were 9-7 winners at No. 2.

Combs then won 6-0, 6-1 at No. 1 and Rogers 6-1, 6-2 at No. 4. Kimble had the three-set match, gutting out a 6-1, 4-6, 7-5 victory at No. 2.
