MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. – Shenandoah University completed its play at the Fast Pitch Dreams Tournament in Myrtle Beach Tuesday with another two wins.

Identical to Monday, Shenandoah (5-5) opened the day with a win over MacMurray (Illinois) before taking out New Jersey City University in the afternoon game. SU was a 2-0 victor in the morning and needed just four innings to complete the sweep in the afternoon by winning 19-1 over the Gothic Knights.
MacMURRAY GAME RECAP
Sophomore
Megan Scalley (2-3) was again outstanding in the circle, this time shutting out the Highlanders on a two-hitter while striking out 12 and walking just one.

The Hornets provided Scalley with all of the offense she would need in the bottom of the first by scoring two runs on three hits and one MacMurray error.
Â
Sammy Amateau started the rally with a single to right before moving to third on
Morgan Henley's single down the right field line.

BayLee Jenkins then loaded the bases for
Nikki Stone by reaching on an error.
Â
Stone came through, lacing a single through the right side to plate both Amateau and Henley.
Â
Scalley held the Highlanders without a hit for 5 2/3 and worked through a pair of two-out singles in the sixth to preserve the shutout.

She retired MacMurray in order in the first, second, third and seventh. In the seventh, she struck out the side to finish the game with five straight strikeouts.
NEW JERSEY CITY GAME RECAP
The Hornets scored five runs in the first inning without the benefit of a hit before extending the lead with two in the second, three in the third and a nine-spot in the fourth.

Trailing by 18 runs after the fourth, NJCU abandoned the game to the Hornets.

Morgan Henley (3-2) earned her second win over NJCU in as many days with three innings of work. She allowed the one run on two hits.

Lacey Clopper pitched the fourth and retired the Gothic Knights in order.

Meghan Stout drove in three runs with Henley, Jenkins, Stone,
Taylor Glover,
Brittany Malone and
Jenna Barr all recording two RBI.

Shenandoah returns home on Thursday to host Mary Washington in a 4 p.m. non-league doubleheader.
