GREENSBORO, N.C. – Shenandoah University earned its first ODAC women's tennis victory of the season with an 8-1 win at Guilford College Wednesday morning.

Shenandoah (4-3, 1-2 ODAC) swept the doubles before winning all but the No. 3 singles match in taking out the Quakers (2-5, 1-3).

Caitlin Bennett, at No. 6 singles, had the match-clinching victory with a 6-4, 6-4 win over Bea Niyibzi.

Bennett also had a hand in the initial point of the contest for the Hornets. She and
Emma Crue were 8-6 winners at No. 3 doubles to put SU on the board.

Combs had the most dominant win, taking out Madyson Scheiber 6-0, 6-1 at No. 1 singles.

The women are off for the next eight days until hosting the other ODAC Hornets, the Lynchburg Hornets, in a 3 p.m. doubleheader match with the SU men on March 19.
