SALISBURY, Md. – A four-run seventh allowed host Salisbury to rally for a 9-7 non-league baseball victory over Shenandoah University Thursday afternoon.

Salisbury, 8-3 and No. 10 in the nation, found itself down 6-3 after
Keegan Woolford hit a monster three-run blast for SU in the sixth.

No. 11 Shenandoah (10-2) had jumped on the Sea Gulls for three runs on four hits in the first only to see Salisbury tie it with two in the second and one in the fourth.

In the sixth, Woolford put the Hornets back up by three runs with a towering shot off the parking deck beyond the right field fence.
Woolford's home run, the 29
th of his career, brought home
Gavin Horning and
Henry Delavergne. Horning, who pinch hit with one out, was hit by a pitch before Delavergne drew a base on balls.

Woolford is now one home run from tying the all-time record at Shenandoah.

The Gulls answered with two in the bottom of the frame to cut the deficit to 6-5 and then scored four runs on two hits and one SU error in the seventh.

A Woolford double to center made it 9-7 in the eighth, but the Hornets left the bases loaded in the frame on an inning-ending strikeout and then went in order in the ninth.

Braden Stinar, who got that bases loaded, inning-ending K in the eighth, had the scoreless ninth to earn the save. Corey Burton (1-0) earned the win with two innings of relief work.

Seth Comer (0-1) took the loss for SU. He allowed four runs on two hits and three walks in 1 1/3 innings.

Grant Thompson was 3-for-4 and Delavergne, Woolford and
Pearce Bucher all had two hits.

Woolford plated four runs with Bucher and
Tyler Kroll driving in one each.
