MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. – Shenandoah University ran its softball winning streak to three games by sweeping a pair of games Monday at the Fast Pitch Dreams Tournament in Myrtle Beach.

Shenandoah (3-5) opened the day with an 8-1 win over MacMurray (Illinois) before taking out New Jersey City University, 12-3 in five innings, in the afternoon game.
MacMURRAY GAME RECAP
The Hornets scored two runs in the first, added two more in the fourth, three in the sixth and one in the seventh to down the Highlanders (0-1).

BayLee Jenkins plated the first run on a double to center and scored what proved to be the game-winning run on
Nikki Stone's double into the left center gap.

Sophomore
Megan Scalley (1-3) went the distance, allowing one run on four hits and three walks while striking out 11.

Stone and
Meghan Stout each had two hits in the win with
Sierra Beaty driving in a pair on a two-run home run in the fourth.

Eight of the nine Hornets starters had at least one hit.
NJ CITY GAME RECAP
A five-run second followed by a seven-spot in the third was all that the Hornets needed to end the game early versus the Gothic Knights (1-1).

Beaty had her second home run of the day, a three-run shot as part of the seven-run third, and Stout drove in two runs.

Seven of the nine SU starters hit safely in the game and
Arlene Miller led the way with a 2-of-3 contest that included an RBI and two runs scored.

Morgan Henley (2-2) won the game in the circle after allowing three runs on five hits and a walk in 4.0 innings.

Henley struck out five before turning it over to
Megan Webb for the fifth. Webb struck out the first two batters she faced before inducing a game-ending groundball to second.
UP NEXT
Shenandoah plays both of these teams again tomorrow to complete play at the tournament. SU takes on MacMurray at 9 a.m. and NJ City at 11.
