BUENA VISTA, Va. – Host Southern Virginia earned a pair of one-run victories Saturday over Shenandoah University in non-league softball action.

The Knights (2-0) rallied for an 8-7 victory in game one before completing the sweep with a 1-0 win in the nightcap over Shenandoah (0-2).
GAME ONE
SU jumped out to a 3-0 lead with three in the first before adding two in the third and two more in the fourth, but SVU combined a three-run second with a five-spot in the fifth to earn the walkoff victory.

BayLee Jenkins was 2 for 4 with three RBI for Coach
Courtney Moyer's club; she drove in the Hornets first run on a single to center in the first before hitting a two-run dinger to left in the fourth.

Eight of the nine Shenandoah starters had at least one hit.

Sophomore
Megan Scalley took the loss. She allowed eight runs (six earned) on eight hits and three walks in 5 1/3 innings. The right-hander struck out six.Â
GAME TWO
Shenandoah pitcher
Morgan Henley (0-1) held the Knights to just two hits, but one was a second inning solo home run that held up as the lone run of the contest.

Henley struck out seven and walked one in tossing the complete game.

Sammie Amateau had two of the Hornets five hits.
